From the Brisbane coast deep into the central-west outback, the Spirit of the Outback links the capital with Longreach — home of the Stockman's Hall of Fame and Qantas Founders Museum.
The Spirit of the Outback departs Brisbane twice a week, running up the coast to Rockhampton before turning inland through Emerald and Barcaldine to Longreach. It's the classic way to reach Queensland's outback country, with Sleeper cabins, First Class and Economy seating and the Tuckerbox dining car aboard.
